It’s that time of year where suddenly we want to shake off the past year’s dust and move on.  It’s when we step back a little and refocus on what we want to achieve in the new year.

And, with a little more time on our hands, we can finally sit back and get to the reading we swore into last year’s resolutions.    

So, here are 5 motivational books that’ll stoke that inner-fire for 2018 and beyond.

The title sounds a little unachievable, but after all - Tom Brady is a five-time Super Bowl champion so he clearly knows what's up.  The book has been described as the 'athlete's bible', with solid principles about training, nutrition, cognitive fitness - just an overall guide to killing it at life.  
But it's not just for athletes! Whether you train for a living, or you exercise just to stay healthy - you're bound to get heaps of gold out of this one. 

Make Your Bed

You may have seen that viral video go around that features an inspiring speech about how you can change the world by making your bed - anyone?  That speech was given by the same guy who wrote this book, Admiral William H. McRaven.  
If you're looking for a quick read, and something a little different from the standard 'top ten motivational books of all time', then this is a great one.  McRaven recounts anecdotes from his experiences in military service, bringing solid wisdom about discipline, attitude and determination.   

Year of Yes

From the woman who brought you a show you may have binge watched recently… 'How to get Away with Murder', as well as Grey's Anatomy and Scandal, the Year of Yes is a memoir of Shonda Rhime's year of saying 'yes' to the things that scared her.   

It sounds like a real-life Yes Man, but it’s so much more than that!  Something as simple as saying ‘yes’ led her to achieve countless things in one year.  Plus, she’s a very entertaining writer.    
5 Second Rule
