Important Legal Stuff
1. Initial Commitment Period
Your Initial Commitment Period is 52 weeks from your first billing date. It will then automatically renew for further two week Commitment Periods unless terminated.
2. Termination/cancellation process
To cancel your membership, please let us know in Club at least 3 days before the next direct debit date (ie close of business on Sunday). If you terminate your membership within the Initial Commitment Period, an Early Termination Fee of up to $300 will apply.
3. Freeze
To freeze your membership, please let us know at least 3 days before the proposed freeze start date. Minimum 2 weeks to a maximum of 12 weeks over a 12-month period of membership.
4. Cooling Off Period
If you change your mind within 14 days of joining, we'll refund any payments. We may deduct any guest fees or personal training fees, if you've used our clubs or services.
5. Home and Away Rules
You may use other Virgin Active clubs in accordance with our Reciprocal Rights Policy. You must use your Home Club more than your Away Club. Where a member is using their Away Club more than their Home Club we’ll ask the member to transfer to that other Club. A transfer fee will apply
6. Your Personal Data
We will collect, use and retain your personal information in accordance with our privacy policy and collection notice found at virginactive.com.au
7. Group exercise bookings
To keep things fair, you can have 6 bookings at any given time. Cancellations within 3 hours of the class start time and no shows incur 1 strike. If you are on the waitlist of a class and get a space within 3 hours of the class starting, you will not receive a strike if you cancel or do not attend. If 3 strikes are incurred in any 14-day period, booking through the app will be suspended for 3 full days. Members can still attend a class without a booking if there is a spot available. Please see Legal Stuff for our full class bookings policy.
8. 50% off your first 12 weeks
Join Virgin Active Australia on a 12-month membership between 12.01am 1 February 2026 and 11.59pm on 28 February 2026 and receive 12 weeks of membership dues at half price (the Offer). After the 12 weeks, standard membership dues for your chosen membership type and Club will apply. To qualify for the Offer, a joiner must complete Virgin Active’s membership sign-up process, including provision of ongoing direct debit payment details, a health check, and payment of pro-rata fees. Virgin Active will apply the Offer to the member’s first full direct debits, meaning the member will receive six fortnightly membership dues payments discounted by 50%. The Offer is equivalent to six (6) weeks of membership dues, as applicable when the discount is applied. The Total Minimum Commitment shown during the sign-up process will not include the free period of membership. Your Total Minimum Commitment will be reduced by the Offer. Total minimum cost of membership varies between membership types; please check in Club for the total minimum commitment value. The Offer is not available in conjunction with any other offers and excludes personal training or other services unless stated. If the joining member is under 18 at the time of joining, their parent or guardian must attend the Club in person to sign Virgin Active’s Membership Agreement and all associated forms. The Offer is available for new members or ex-members whose membership has lapsed for 30 days or more and who meet all other criteria. The Offer excludes Vitality memberships and corporate memberships. This Offer is subject to availability and may be withdrawn at any time. All applicable membership contract conditions apply, including our Club Rules and the completion of the Health Commitment Statement (ask at your club for details). Virgin Active is not liable for the reproduction of this Offer or any indirect access via third-party websites or otherwise. If any reproduction misstates or omits any of the information or the relevant Terms and Conditions, it shall not be valid. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall be deemed to exclude or restrict any of the eligible persons’ statutory rights as a consumer. Details are accurate at the time of writing.
