Welcome to the subtle workout. Yoga classes in the Align category are slower-paced but still require concentration and effort. Subtle doesn’t necessarily mean easy. They will gradually stretch and strengthen, and build outer and inner balance. Japanese Yoga works with your meridians, the changing seasons, diet and oriental medical practices. The sequence changes every season to suit the changes that happen within your body and around you within the environment. As it is seasonal the practice concentrates on certain elements and meridians depending on the time of year

Why is it good for me?

The sequence of poses taught are intelligently linked to the season and our environment, as well as working along certain meridian lines. This makes this practice unique in that it is working quite specifically to our current conditions. Japanese Yoga improves mental clarity, enhances flexibility and muscle tone, as well as releasing mental and emotional tension

What will I do?

This practice includes stretching exercises, seated meditation, moving meditation, breathing exercises, healing arts, repetitive movements and health improvement methods. The goal of these techniques is the realisation of one's full potential in everyday life through the unification of mind and body

What should I bring?

We have all the equipment you need, including Yoga mats. But feel free to bring your own if you prefer. Make sure you wear comfortable workout clothes and something warm to wear during relaxation. We do recommend bringing a Yoga towel, which we sell at reception. During Japanese Yoga, make sure you grab a block and belt as you set up your mat
